But these are usually the last step in multistep processes.

More often than not, a website has several options for actions your visitors might take – depending on how far along they are in the buying process. Your first goal for a visitor might be to sign up for a newsletter or tip sheet. Your second goal may be to get them to take an online tour of your product. Your third goal may be a free product trial. And so on.

Address each of these steps individually and you’ll soon be converting vastly more visitors into prospects and customers.
